Elizabeth Dorbad is a sculptor and installation artist living in California. Affiliated with the Julie Baker Gallery, Dorbad exhibits nationally and internationally.

She works in found objects, recycled materials,
printmaking, metal and ceramic sculpture, encaustic
painting, and photography. She tries to invoke
(provoke) awe in other people; but will settle for a
good belly laugh.

Martin's own statements about what she does tend to verge on the mystical; but whatever they do for the soul, it would be a mistake to let their mystical suggestiveness overshadow what they are, first and foremost: gorgeous, uncompromising challenges to the eye.

Antoni Tàpies was born in Barcelona in 1923 into a cultured, middle-class, Catalan nationalist family who, since the 19th century, had been part of a publishing and book-selling tradition that awoke in him an early love of books and reading.
